Under the leadership of Dr. Davis a mark is genuinely being made that cannot be erased throughout the CSRA and beyond in the lives of hundreds of thousands. Countless lives were impacted by the television outreach “Excelling in Life,” which was directed and produced by the ALWC ministry team. In addition to the television outreach efforts, ALWC has ministered to and changed the lives of hundreds of men at the Augusta Diversion Center. The Superintendent recognized the ministry's efforts at the Augusta Diversion Center as life-changing for the men and the facility's total environment due to the efforts of Abundant Life.
1999
Receiving The Vision
Hardie Davis received the vision of Abundant Life while attending a Men’s Conference in the fall of 1999. While at the Men’s Conference in Washington DC, the Lord directed Hardie to 1 Samuel 22:1-2 and John 10:9-10. In these scripture passages, the Lord shared with Hardie that the word of “abundance of life” was in his mouth, and he was to teach it with simplicity and understanding to those he touched.
2000
From Few To Many
The ministry had humble beginnings, with four people in attendance. The first worship service was held in a storefront on May 4, 2000. Many beautiful things have transpired in the ministry during the past twenty years. Members have been added to the church, and lives continue to be changed. Solid biblical teaching and demonstration of the Word of God in people’s lives have been the mark of this ministry. Abundant Life has several ministries within the church that foster growth and spiritual development under the leadership of Dr. Davis, that are changing families with “One Word” from God.
2003
God Provided The Land
In 2003, the Lord directed Dr. Davis to purchase land for the church. After a year of searching, the land on which we now stand was purchased in October 2004. Much more has happened as a result of Abundant Life being in existence. Truly, God has honored this vision assignment.
2009
Groundbreaking Move
With a groundbreaking ceremony held on August 2, 2009, the construction of Abundant Life’s first facility began. Through a prayerful and heartfelt commitment to God, ministry, and each other, we are now here.
2010
Marching On
On February 6, 2010, the members of ALWC marched into our new church home located at 2070 Brown Road. Imagine what lies ahead if God can use people to do these things. Dr. Davis always says, “The Best Is Yet to Come.”
2025
A Milestone Year
25 Years Of Faithfulness: In 2025, Abundant Life Worship Center celebrates 25 years of ministry. Through the highs and lows, we have stood firm—anchored in God’s promises. We weathered the global COVID-19 pandemic. We endured the pain of a church split. Yet, by God’s grace, we are still
here—stronger, wiser, and more unified than ever.
This 25th anniversary is more than a celebration of years—it is a testimony to God’s sustaining power, the resilience of our people, and the unshakable foundation upon which this ministry is built. We don’t just look back with gratitude—we look ahead with great expectation. The best is
yet to come.

Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Hardie Davis, Jr.
Senior Pastor & Founder, Abundant Life Worship Center
Dr. Hardie Davis, Jr. is a pastor, teacher, and community leader with a passion for people and a love for God. In 2000, he founded the Abundant Life Worship Center, which had just four members and a vision from God to bring hope, healing, and love to the CSRA. That vision became reality as the church grew into a vibrant ministry that now touches lives locally and globally.
Known for his powerful yet practical teaching style, Dr. Davis helps people apply God’s Word to real life. Under his leadership, ALWC has launched ministries that serve the homeless, disciple new believers, support education, and build churches internationally.
Before becoming a pastor, Dr. Davis earned an engineering degree from Georgia Tech and served in the Georgia House and Senate. He later made history as Augusta’s first African American mayor elected in the consolidated city/county. But even as a statesman, he remained a servant, called to lead, love, and lift others through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He holds a Doctor of Ministry from Christian Life School of Theology and continues to serve with excellence and integrity. He is a proud father and man of faith who believes in one thing above all:
“The best is yet to come.”
What We Believe
-
We Firmly Believe:
That Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day, He rose from the dead, and later ascended into heaven, where He remains at the right hand of God Almighty.
-
We Firmly Believe:
That after death, eternal life continues either in heaven or hell, based on your decision to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. That when the Rapture occurs, the dead in Christ will rise first, and then those who are alive and remain (those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior) will be caught up to meet Him in the air.
-
We Firmly Believe:
The Bible was written and inspired by God.
-
We Firmly Believe:
Faith is Acting on the Word of God.
-
We Firmly Believe:
In water baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
We Firmly Believe:
In the authority of Jesus’ name.
-
We Firmly Believe:
In the indwelling and baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
-
We Firmly Believe:
In divine healing—the restoration of health to those who believe and act on the truths written in God’s Word. We further believe that Jesus is our Healer, and that by His stripes, we are already healed.
-
We Firmly Believe:
In Biblical Equality: We believe in the Biblical equality and value of all human persons, as men, women, and children of all races were created in the image of God and are called to His service. (Gen.1:27; John 1:12; Gal.3:28; Joel 2:28, 29)
-
We Firmly Believe:
In Tithes and offerings should be freely given to your local church. We believe that the local church is the place of membership where God has called you to receive His Word on a consistent basis and to grow spiritually. (1 Cor 12:18)
-
We Firmly Believe:
In giving support to the poor, sick, homeless, and others in despair.
