FAQs About Tithing
A tithe is one-tenth of whatever you bring into your home financially that you then bring to God.
You should give based on the money that passes through your hands, whether it be your paycheck, tax refund, or any other form of income.
Use this principle as a guide to giving:
“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.” – 2 Corinthians 9:6 (NLT)
Your tithes help to support the extraordinary task of winning souls to Christ; from keeping the lights on to purchasing food to feed and shelter the homeless through Family Promise.
No, tithing does not grant you salvation. To be saved, you must confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God. Tithing is a sign of obedience to God and faith in his word that he will meet your needs.
Not tithing does not mean you are not saved; however, it does mean you are being disobedient to God. To not tithe is to dishonor God.
